Great hot cocoa for a great price Since I live in the Northeast, the winter’s cold temperatures can be bone-chilling, so I make hot chocolate nearly every morning and evening during those months. Now it’s even more delicious with the Cocomotion Hot Chocolate Maker, and it’s so easy, too. Just pour in 1-4 cups of MILK (it’s far better than using water), and add the appropriate amount of hot chocolate powered mix, plug it in, turn it on, and within minutes you have the creamiest, richest, smoothest hot chocolate that you’ve ever tasted! If you make more than 1 cup, just leave the “on” button “on”, and the Cocomotion will keep it hot until you’re ready for the next cup! I usually pour 2 cups of milk into the carafe because my coffee mugs are 12 oz, and 8 oz of milk is just not enough to fill a mug.For easy clean-up, just rinse the empty carafe and lid with warm water before sitting down to sip the hot chocolate, and by the time you’re finished, washing the carafe and lid is a breeze. Highly…

My sister is not a coffee drinker, but has to have her soy hot cocoa every morning. She used to go to Starbucks, till they changed soy. Ugh! I bought a Williams-Sonoma Bialetti Hot Cocoa Maker for $79.95, and it lasted less than six months. Thought I’d give the Cocomotion a try. At a QUARTER the cost, it makes just as good cocoa. It’s also quieter and easier to clean. A great buy!Update – 14 months later and I love it all the more. Now my sister not only has it in the morning, but sometimes before she goes to bed too. It’s gotten daily use (sometimes twice-daily use) for the last 14 months and is still going strong. P.S. If you have a Peet’s Coffee in your area, buy the cocoa powder. It makes the best cocoa of all in this dandy little machine.Update – okay, it’s now April 2012, and I purchase it in June of 2009. It will be 3 years old in four months, still gets near daily use. Only complaint – the teflon on the bottom has been flaking off for about the last 8…

Let’s get the cons out of the way: an all in one unit so that the carafe does not separate from the base. Short power cord. Markings for cups difficult to see. That’s it.It’s really effortless to lift and pour with the entire appliance. A quick rinse with a soapy sponge and let it dry. And the short cord does store in the base which is very convenient and neat. Now for the pros: it makes great hot chocolate at just the right temperature– hot enough but not burning hot. I like to use 12 ounces of milk, with a couple of tablespoons of cocoa and sweetener, keeping the drink sugar and as fat free as possible. The end result using a mix of 1% milk and fat free half and half is better than any hot chocolate I have ever tasted. And this amount takes just three minutes. All it takes is a push of a button to start the machine. It shuts off on its own when the hot chocolate reaches the correct temperature. It’s relatively small for an appliance and takes up…
