Not all K-Cups makers are created equal If I were to tell you how many Keurig K -Cup Brewers that I have purchased and owned over the last decade or so I doubt that would believe me. I have a hard time believing it myself but trust me to say that it has been dozens. I have purchased or been given through the Amazon Vine program at least 10 makers and I have purchased them for all of my children (that’s 6!) and for many of the places that I have worked. One thing that I have learned is that not all K-Cup makers are created equal. Here are the highlights of this coffee maker:* It is relatively inexpensive* It was designed for under the counter use so it has a low profile* The K-Cup holder slides out of the machine rather than lifting the lid which facilitates having it under the counter* The water holder slides out horizontally rather than vertically, again this helps to keep it’s low profileHere are some things that I don’t like about it:* Opening up…

Makes a mess I was hoping this would be a cheaper Keurig replacement for us, but there are a few cons about it that make me want to go back to my finicky Keurig. The first would be that it is messy. When you remove the compartment that holds the K-cup and open it, you had better be over the sink, it drains water/tea/coffee everywhere. Plus just having to have the compartment is an extra step that I haven’t figured out a reason for. With the Keurig you can just pop the pods in out and that is a lot less cumbersome and less messy. Also if you are brewing a larger amount and need to remove the tray for the larger cup, the brewer leaks down the back of the slot where your cup is, making another mess. So between the two messes, have your paper towels ready for each cup of coffee brewed. It does have 2 sizes, although I am not sure they are correct, when I choose 6 oz, it almost fills my average sized coffee cup up. The other size available is 10 oz. Make sure you press the…

I own a Keurig home brewer with 6, 8 and 10 oz. options and a 48-ounce water reservoir. After being spoiled by the Keurig, it didn’t take long to find usability with Mr. Coffee. The first one is noticeable right away. You have to take out the pullout drawer holder to insert the K-Cup. For the Keurig, it’s just pull on the handle, insert and close. That’s it. Mr. Coffee has one advantage with the pullout drawer. You don’t have to pull out the whole brewer from under a cabinet to insert a K-Cup. HOWEVER, the water reservoir is in the back. You will still have to pull out the coffeemaker to fill it. Actually, the reservoir is removable for filling, but my hand kept hitting the cabinet.I keep my Keurig in a spot so I don’t have to move it to insert the K-Cup or fill the reservoir. But I cannot push it all the way back because the handle will hit the bottom of the cabinet. Its reservoir is on the side, so filling is easy. The time it takes from turning it…
