Cost effective replacement I bought this to replace the broken glass of my Bodum 8 cup French press I purchased from Starbucks. The replacement beaker fits well. The beaker fits perfectly in its holder and the press fits perfectly in the beaker. This is a cheaper alternative to the actual Bodum replacement. The coffee still tastes great!UPDATE 08-27-12: I reduced this to 3 stars from the original 5. While the beaker fits well and still makes great-tasting coffee, when I fill the beaker to the near top to make a full pot of coffee, the beaker leaks terribly when I pour. The coffee has to be poured VERY carefully when the pot is full so that it does not leak down the sides. But to do that, it requires much concentration. Too much, in my opinion, to just pour coffee into the mug. It is such a common occurrence that for anyone who pours that first or second cup of coffee there are always leaks down the side. It’s Good But It Used To Be A Steal! I bought this replacement glass for my Bodum when there weren’t any reviews for it here on Amazon. Back then, it was sold for less than $10, which is a significant savings from what Bodum offers. At that price, it was a steal and I would not hesitate to buy it. But since then, it has steadily gone up in price. Now it’s over $18. I see that amazon doesn’t currently have Bodum 8 cup replacement glasses in stock, but when they do, it is usually under $20.Cosmetically, there are a few differences from the Bodum replacements. The top edges of the glass are less rounded than Bodum’s replacement glass and the spout is both shorter and narrower than Bodum’s. That could explain why another reviewer said it leaks when the glass is full. But I never fill it so much that the cap can’t fit comfortably without overflowing, so I’ve never had a leak problem. Still, due to the shorter and narrower spout, you may find this replacement doesn’t pour as well, but it has never bothered me…
